I have so many things around the  house that I want to take pictures of these days but the weather has not been cooperating.  I just can’t get a good photo in my dark wintry downstairs without good natural light.

So instead I thought I would share some images from a category in my Pinterest account that has been growing rapidly lately.  It’s called “Vignettes” and it’s basically as it sounds.  It’s for any image I find beautiful mostly for its styling and which can’t be easily categorized as a particular space.

Seems totally random when I look at them together like that but I know the images have a boldness to them that was hard to categorize any other way!  Check out more on my Pinterest page.

Also, I just wanted to say how much admiration and respect I have for all the ladies in the blog world who are moms, bloggers, designers, have day jobs, take care of family, etc.  My hat is off to you!  I find it so hard to get everything done in the hours I have everyday and lately my attention to my blog friends has been suffering.  Thanks to all the bloggers and followers who keep checking me out and especially leaving comments even though I haven’t always been able to do the same lately.  I really appreciate it!  The good news is, I have had a lot of new client design projects come my way over the last few weeks but the hard part is I am always struggling to find that balance.  I would love any tips from any blogger/designer/moms out there who have made it work.

Thanks again for stopping by!

  1. That first image with the baskets and bench is one of my all time favorites. And I spy de Gourney wall paper again. Man, I love that stuff.

As for the balance, wish I could do it all too.. I’m guilty of the same thing! :)

  2. I love the third picture with the weathered round table and basket underneath. I already have that one on my pinterest page and hope to actually make it a reality one day!

  3. That Heather Bullard image is pure perfection to me! I would like every vignette in my home to look as lovely. As far as balance…I am always working on that too! I do find that when I am most busy and feeling stretched for time and balance the most important things find their way to the top of the list and get done. The others that I dont get to are usually things that can wait.

  4. I’ve got the same problem throughout our home Lane. I find the lighting to be so difficult that I can’t get any good photos. I’d love to post some updates on our master but my photos are crap. I’ll just have to hope for some good light one of these weekends. {And sigh…} I’ve been struggling with my blog lately. I’ve been so busy at my day job that when I get home at night I’m having dinner with the family, spending QT with Sheila, bedtime, and then I find myself working on client projects. I just haven’t had the energy to devote to my blog. I hope once this one specific project is wrapping up that I’ll have more time, because I miss you guys, I miss connecting, and I miss not being able to visit as much as I like as well. But we all know how hard it is but at the same time we know that family is the most important.

    • I think we are in the same place Holly. I love the blog and keeping in touch with all these new connections I’ve made but it is so hard to find the time sometimes. Perhaps it is just a busy time for us now but I can’t see it getting better any time soon. I guess everyone struggles with balance when they have work and family. I am impressed you are able to maintain a day job in the midst of it all! The reality is though I just have to make it work because there is nothing I am prepared to give up at this point. But you are right, family comes first and that is the easy choice. I do miss connecting with everyone on the blog though too. I would never have thought I would have made all these great friendships from blogging. It’s such a wonderful community to have become a part of.
