Tiburon Views Remodel

Located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, this transformative interior design project breathes contemporary elegance into a home with a legacy of architectural brilliance by Sutton Suzuki Architects. Tasked with updating the space without overshadowing its original architectural grandeur, LMI embraced the home's panoramic views of the SF Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and Marin Hills as the primary inspiration. The design introduces a serene palette of cool, soft tones and bespoke wood finishes, chosen to harmonize with the natural beauty outside and the stonework within, offering a refreshing departure from the previous vibrant colors.
Central to this project's uniqueness is its strategic layout and the seamless integration of almost continuous windows that frame 270-degree views, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity. LMI's innovative solutions—such as refinishing the cherry floors in a warm ebony, redesigning the kitchen island with custom-stained white oak, and introducing seafoam green cabinetry—elevate the space while enhancing its connection to the outdoors. The kitchen redesign notably maximizes the space by replacing obstructive elements with streamlined designs, including a hand-plastered hood and a minimized octagonal column, ensuring an unimpeded view.
This home's transformation highlights a blend of durability with luxury, reflecting the homeowners' lifestyle of frequent entertaining and appreciation for the outdoors. The selection of durable materials, custom furnishings, and art work, such as the hand-painted wall covering in the Primary Bedroom and a custom mural in the dining room, underscores the integration of personal style and functional elegance. This project stands as a beacon of contemporary design, inviting those who seek a home that is both an architectural marvel and a personal sanctuary.
