Your consultation

For our Design and Career Consultations, you'll meet 1:1 on Zoom with Lane for a 1 hour virtual consultation to discuss your home and design ideas. 

For potential projects for the LMI roster of artfully designed homes, your consultation will be in person to discuss your ideas and how you’ll work together with Lane and her team.

In all consults, you'll get personalized advice* from an acclaimed interior designer with over a decade of experience designing award-winning homes. 

Most clients prepare for the consultation with photos or videos of their space, while some share a live walk-through or architectural plans. We recommend you bring your own reference images for spaces you love (and don't love) prior to the consult so you're prepared to communicate your design ideas with Lane and make the most of your time together.

Discovery Consultation

Preparation you need to engage an interior designer on a large scale renovation or new home build. 

Who's it for: clients preparing to engage an interior designer on their large scale renovation or new home build. 

What to expect: After a 30-minute introductory call, Lane will meet you at your home or building site to discover all the ways you can work together, introduce LMI, and answer all your questions about the process of building or transforming your dream home.  

This consult is for you if: You're looking to start your project in 2023+ and have a budget for renovation and/or furnishings (3 room, $250K min). This consultation will give you a sense of working with Lane and her team with lots of advice on project management and how to have a successful renovation.

to your specific project needs.

Who's it for: design enthusiasts anywhere in the world ready to implement the advice of a professional interior designer on their next home project and who are hoping to avoid costly mistakes. 

What to expect: Personalized design advice tailored to your specific project needs. We recommend taking lots of notes for this information-packed session as there are no post-consultation deliverables. Personalized design advice tailored to your specific project needs. Typically Lane will advise on:

• Furniture and decor selection, placement, and layout

• Space planning

• Resources

• Paint and wall covering, drapery and window treatments

• Fixtures, finishes, and trims

• Construction and remodel ideas

• Advice on planning for your big renovation

This consult is for you if: You want the look and feel of a high end design project but don't have the budget to spend on a full service designer. You'll take the advice and leads from your consultation and manage the implementation on your own or with your contractor. This consultation is design-advice heavy with lots of industry insider knowledge and expertise.

Who's it for: designers early in their careers who feel overwhelmed by the industry, students and interns, or anyone considering a career in interior design who wants advice on what to expect or how to most successfully transition into a design career.

What to expect: Lane is deeply committed to mentoring and guiding designers in their careers and businesses, and can consult on:

• Business advice for running an interior design firm

• Project management for larger projects—phasing, scheduling, etc

• Career advice and mentorship for aspiring designers early in their careers

• Career transitions from outside of design to interiors 

• Filtering the noise of industry advice

This consult is for you if: You are a designer early in your career or are considering a pivot to interior design.
